Hilary St. Hill

Hilary St. Hill was born in the United Kingdom with her maternal roots in the North eastern community of Marigot. She has had a passion for art from an early age but was never motivated to pursue a career in that field although she was an exemplary student.

It was never her first choice but has now become her main choice and she has come to understand and believe that art is from the Creator and that no one chooses to be an artist, you are born one and should practice to become a true artist and live to your full potential. She sees her works of arts as a medium to capture and preserve the beauty of God’s work for future generations as God is the originator of art.

Hilary’s skills are in canvas paintings, drawings, making and designing clothing, hand-painting fabric, printing, tie- dyeing, pencil artwork and ceramic painting. Her hand painted fabrics and designed outfits have been worn by local reggae super star Nasio Fontaine.

Her paintings usually focus on everyday scenes in island life and reflect her Rastafarian beliefs of natural living and being connected to nature and all living things.
